Mission to Pakistan February 2014.
This promises to be an excellent trip
- depart Tuesday 11th February . Party of current Mayor of Walsall Councillor Mohammed Nazir Mohammed Aslam MBE Director Midlands International Aid Trust ( MIAT) Dr Ian Robertson Director of Oak Tree Trust .
They will be joined by 4 members of a charity based in Bradford that have also raised large amounts of funds to continue the build of a new free hospital in Kashmir. ( Kasguma)
The programme will be Arrive 12th February ( Wednesday) and travel first to Kashmir to view progress of the new hospital build . Possible a number of school visits by the Mayor to deliver letters and IR doing dental health checks( we will be carrying a large number of letters and pictures from primary children in Walsall who wish to exchange correspondence) Also to do some dental health advice presentations to their school assemblies. Stay on 12th and 13th February
14th February Mayor , Aslam and Ian Robertson only travel to Gurjrat with a programme that will include
Visits to a number of local schools.. visit school assemblies, dental awareness talks, exchanges of letters from children. Mayor will visit the various projects listed below.
There will be free cleft operations starting on Saturday 15th February and 3 world class cleft surgeons from the United Kingdom will join the team and operated from the 17th February to the 21st February. These operations are provided without charge to the people of all Pakistan.
There will be an official launch of the cleft camp on Monday 17th February when were are very hopeful the Governor Sarwar ( ex MP for Glasgow) will be able to join us… he has expressed personally to us his great support for our efforts here in Gurjrat.
Tuesday 18th February there will be a free eye camp ( funded by the 2 charities) with a number of patients treated and will be visited by the Mayor. The Mayor will also visit Gurjrat University ( Friday 14th February)
Wednesday 19th February ..Travel to Islamabad where Mayor has a number of invitations to visit some Government officials.
Thursday 20th February fly back to Birmingham ( joined again by those who have spent time in Kashmir visiting that hospital project) to arrive back 3pm local time.
