Some interesting potential projects have been revealed. Jason in Niger has suggested that some investment to provide material to do beekeeping could be a very useful and sustainable source both of income and of food... of course the bees feeding off the new crops we are planting and doing the pollination which will increase crop yields!!
The other area of possible support is to put into place some care pathways for those women who suffer from a fistula... these women have suffered during attempted childbirth when do assistance available... death of the infant and subsequent serious internal damage to the women results in a fistula which if untreated will result in rejection by their husband and their community. A simple repair will allow them to resume normal life... the access to these simple operations is very often denied to those who live in out lying communities . We are doing some careful research to see if we can address the two projects above where areas of both Niger and Pakistan could benefit.
